Days between firmware releases

It's been pretty quiet over at iRex lately, so I started to wonder. How long has it been since firmware 2.11 was released? It seems like forever. So I decided to make a spreadsheet that details the amount of time between all of the firmware releases. It's definitely on an upward scale, but I think the releases have gotten better and better.

So maybe we'll see 2.12 by mid to end of January. Hope so.

As an Iliad user I should say that Irex support for Iliad sucks and so does its development. If it wasn't for you guys, the holy gurus that hang out by mobileread, we will be missing a lot of features Iliad has now.
I got it a month after the release date and I'm more disappointed with Irex every day.

Thank you for all your work and dedication, Adam.

I disagree. While I appreciate your comments and praise, I think the iRex developers are doing as well of a job as can be expected. As far as I know, they only have 3 or 4 people doing active development on a new technology. Given how far they've come since the 2.4 release, I think they've done an excellent job.

It's a good job for a 3-4 developer crew, I agree. They're not the problem, they're kind and helpful at the forums as well. What I meant is that Irex isn't spending enough resources to improve the device, even when they released it in a beta stage without some features they said will come or there were, I can't remember, and they promised a far better battery life than it has. That's what pisses me off.

The Iliad is an awesome device.

But I thing they are doing a lousy job at marketing it. They apparently don't realize that they should be targeting the niche market of academia where their product is unmatched by-far.

They should be promting it in IEEE, ACM and other scientific journals.

Researchers such as myself have big problems with papers pilling up in their cubical. How are you supposed to organize them in an accessible manner, along with the notes you made in them and in a manner that is easy on the eye for extending reading? The solution is an Iliad.

The PDF zooming capability is awesome, although I do wish it could zoom just 50% more so it would fill a whole column in IEEE/ACM format. Thats the only thing I'm really hoping they add in the coming firmware update.

Maybe also a bit of optimization in their algorithms so it runs faster. Speed optimization is one of those things that with a bit of effort you can always improve on.
